Md Rokib Hasan, Ph.D.

Hello! I am Rokib Hasan, a biotechnologist, and molecular biologist trained to work both in vitro and in vivo models. After completing my bachelor and master’s degree in Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, I have obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences in the Cellular and Molecular Biology Research Track at the Arkansas State University- Jonesboro, Arkansas. My dissertation research is being conducted under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar in the Biological Sciences Department at ABI, Arkansas State University.

My doctoral research focuses on dissecting the related pathways that plays crucial role on prenylation of stilbenoids in peanut hairy roots by using CRISPR-Cas9 and RNAi techniques. My dissertation research will also reveal the anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective mechanism of the prenylated stilbenoids obtained from peanut hairy root extracts both in vitro cell culture and in vivo models.

Before joining to Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar’s lab, I was working to reveal the role and to dissect the associated cell signaling pathways of CAP1 (Adenylyl Cyclase-Associated Protein 1) protein in breast and pancreatic cancer cells.
